Another vH&S development for the ISS: The RF frontend for the ICARUS (International Cooperation for Animal Research Using Space) project will enable tracking of movements of animals tagged with low-power transmitters weighing less than 5g. The delivered units demonstrate that vH&S design capabilities extend well into the GHz regime, with outstanding receiver sensitivity and noise performance.
Full operation of the system is expected for August, when the ICARUS antenna will be installed during an extravehicular activity.
